Looking to help out on The Marigold Mile?

The Marigold Mile relies on volunteer help both from individuals and companies looking to donate their time. There are many options for volunteering that include planting, watering, weeding, and helping maintaining the Mile.

Approximate Timeline to begin volunteering (weather dependent with late April snow or rainy May days):

  • Early/Middle of May - Prepping the curbs by cleaning up after a long winter.

  • Tuesday after Memorial Day - First day of planting!

  • Estimated 3 weeks in June - Finish with planting.

  • June through September - Maintaining the Mile by watering, weeding, and deadheading.

  • October through November - Remove flowers before the ground freezes.

If you are interesting in volunteering, please fill in this form so we can keep in contact with you on the planting and maintenance schedule. To beat the heat, The Marigold Mile crew are usually out most weekdays from 7:30-10:00am. If you need a later start time or are looking to volunteer on the weekend, please include that information in the message area on the form so we can staff the Mile appropriately.

Have kids and looking to volunteer? Not a problem, we just need an adult to help supervise anyone under 18 years old.

If you are a company looking to have a group of people volunteer on the same day, please include the number of estimated people in your group so we can make sure we have the proper equipment ready.

Thank you for your interest in The Marigold Mile. It is because of you that South Oneida Street is one of the happiest streets in Appleton.
