The Marigold Mile Photo Contest Rules

The Marigold Mile 2020 Photo Contest begins September 1, 2020, and ends September 30, 2020, at 11:59 PM Central Standard Time (CST). By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest.

Who may enter: Photographers of all abilities and ages are encouraged to submit entries. A winning entry from photographers under the age of 18 will require a release signed by a parent or guardian.

To be eligible, a photograph must have been shot by the entrant since June, 2020.

For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian and provide it to The Marigold Mile upon request.

Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.

Photos that contain sexually explicit, obscene, violent or other objectionable or inappropriate content, as determined by The Marigold Mile in its sole discretion, are ineligible for all categories of this contest.

What and how to enter: Drop off or mail 4X6, 5X7 or 8X10 photos to Murray Photo, City Center Plaza, 10 East College Ave. Suite 110, Appleton, WI 54911, 920-733-5885. Please submit photographs with your name, address, phone number, and date the photo was taken on the back of each photo. We do not accept photographs submitted through email. Submit no more than three (3) photographs.

Entry deadline: All entries must be dropped off or mailed by 11:59 pm Central Time on September 30, 2020.

Prizes: Three gift certificates will be awarded to first, second and third place winners.

Judging: Photo entries will be judged based on creativity, quality, originality and representation of The Marigold Mile. Judging will be conducted by The Marigold Mile judges.

Winning photographs will be contacted by October 14, 2020. The Marigold Mile will notify the winner via the contact information provided at the time of entry.

All photographs received will be on display at Murray Photo. Please do not contact us about the status of entries or judging.

Photographers: You retain your rights to your photograph; however, by entering the contest, you grant The Marigold Mile a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any Marigold Mile purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of The Marigold Mile, its website and including but not limited to The Marigold Mile publications. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. The Marigold Mile will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
